AVEVA City is the place to be. You can feel it in the air. It's a bustling, vibrant urban center that has become the heart of industry, culture, and innovation.

As you look around, you realize that AVEVA City is now facing new challenges. Due to the recent industrial ingenuity of our partners, AVEVA City has become a magnet for people in search of a better way of life, which means the population has grown a lot in a short space of time.

The city’s infrastructure is struggling to keep pace with demand, leading to inefficiencies in five key areas. To secure a sustainable future, AVEVA City needs to evolve into a smart city, leveraging cutting-edge technology to optimize resource usage, reduce environmental impact, and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

Your mission is to design innovative solutions that will help AVEVA City become more efficient and sustainable.

Boost supply chain resilience & efficiency

Outdated supply chain networks lead to costly delays and inefficiencies in manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, demanding new digital solutions for enhanced agility and monitoring. We seek digital solutions that can enhance real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and agile decision-making to create a robust supply chain system.

Accelerate digitalization & energy transition

Rising energy demands and ageing oil & gas infrastructure in AVEVA City call for solutions to integrate renewable energy sources, modernize legacy systems, and enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Optimize marine transport & safety

AVEVA City’s port struggles with inefficiencies and safety issues, creating a need for advancements in cargo handling, vessel traffic management, and maritime safety. We invite you to propose technological advancements that can streamline port operations, improve navigation safety, or enhance cargo handling efficiency.

Enhance industrial water management

Growing industrial demands threaten the city's water resources, calling for solutions to reduce waste discharge, promote recycling, and optimize water use. Your solutions should aim at minimizing environmental impact while ensuring sustainable water use.

Improve mining and mineral processing

AVEVA City’s mining, minerals, and metals industry is facing increasing pressure to operate sustainably while meeting the demands for essential materials. We are seeking solutions to enhance mineral extraction, optimize energy use, and reduce the environmental footprint of mining activities.

Want to tackle another challenge for AVEVA City? You can create your own use case. Remember, your solution should still demonstrate how it can transform AVEVA City into a resilient, smart city capable of meeting the needs of its growing population.

As participants, you need to work in teams to design and prototype a solution that addresses one of these challenges (or your own use case). You will build on your initial idea in the second round of the competition so bear this in mind ahead of the virtual pitch.

The road ahead

Preparing AVEVA City for the future will be no easy task but remember the noble purpose behind it. While striving for the AVEVA Partner Games Ultimate Victor prize, you’re also helping to secure the greater good when you regenerate an entire city.

Round 2 – what to expect in the City Trials

Build on your initial Submission pitch to implement an application that improves any process in any type of premises.

Present your solution in a virtual environment on the City Trials Day on Wednesday February 19, 2025.

Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes, and expect Q&A after.
